Johanne Zhangjia Ihle-Hansen was murdered the 10 august 2019 by her brother
Philip Manhaus. A race motivated crime in the house where they lived, in her bed.
Johanne was adopted from China and Philip is a white Norwegian ethnic man.
The artist and Johanne were born in the same provins and were both adopted to
families in Scandinavia. The work consists of fragments of the artist’s childhood
home, and a bed, fictionally made after the racially motivated murder of
a Chinese adoptee in Norway in 2019.
